Dayton Memorial Library – Library of Things

Discover Something New

What is it?

The Library of things or LoT is a collection of items that the library loans out to individuals to encourage developmental skills in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.  Each kit follows a theme relating to one of these aspects and are separated between children and adults.  Some of the items more geared toward adults are there to try before you buy. If you are an educator, or are part of an educational organization, consider our special collection!

How do I check these things out?

A borrower must be at least 18 years or older to have an item from the Library of Things checked out under their account.  Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when selecting an item.  Additionally, the borrower’s account must be free of overdues, fines and restrictions.  Borrowers are limited to one item per household.  Finally, a terms and conditions agreement must by signed by the borrower upon checkout.
Once that is out of the way, it’s simple!
