11 Days to Christmas – 17 Days left in 2017!!

This year has absolutely flown by – or maybe it just felt that way because we were so busy with activities here at the library. Summer Reading science projects, a solar eclipse event, an evening under the stars learning about black holes, a night of cowboy poetry, a visit from a local beekeeper as well as visits from the Kindie Rock band Micah and Me, the Pacific Science Center’s Science on wheels, and guest speakers from Humanities Washington . . . phew . . . we am exhausted just listing a FEW of the events that kept us busy here. And of course there were plenty of new books put on the shelves, along with new movies and documentaries, audio books and we added many digital downloads too.
2017 was a great year at the library and 2018 is shaping up to be just as exciting, educational and entertaining. We are so glad you all have been on this whirlwind ride with us this year and can’t wait to see you all in 2018.

  1. Thank you for the note from the dear old Dayton library. I grew up in Dayton. My folks had a greenhouse at 512 W. Main. I graduated from DHS. My old DHS girlfriend still lives in Dayton, I am glad to say. During the war (WW2) there was a rec hall developed in the basement. It wasn’t much, but somebody tried. I think it was the brainchild of Cletys Dingle. I am now 90, but old memories persist.

    • Thanks John for sharing your memories with us. We do love to hear from people who grew up around here and remember the way things used to be. It’s important to keep the stories alive!
